What is Warwicktweetup?
WTU formed when the desire to meet the people behind the tweets in Warwickshire became obvious after a brief conversation on Twitter. Since then WTU has become something of a phenomenon. The driving force behind WTU are Todd (@UnderWoodWines), Karen (@KarensPhotos) and Christie (@WarwickTweeter) who are collectively known as 'The Committee'.
Warwick TweetUp has since grown into a hub of local people and businesses and its business networking in particular has been a powerful spin off from what was only meant to be a few drinks. Warwick TweetUp have raised over £2500 for the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, had many pubcrawls (TwubCrawls) around Warwick, equally as many Ladies Lunches and over 200 members are signed up. The website, developed and maintained by Guy Eastwood of Surefyre Design (@Surefyre) from the design of Gaz Nash of Liquidblu (@liquidblu_), has had over 100,000 hits and is now onto its second version. Members can offer each other discounts and services and businesses doing so have seen great relationships formed because of it.
Twitter School is now a very popular spin-off from WarwickTweetup and monthly classes and workshops can be found here.
We have a Blog and a Gallery to which our members contribute and each event is posted to our designated events section on the website. WTU has become the go-to Twitter account to follow in Warwickshire, with many new tweeters following @WarwickTweetUp and logging on to our website before doing anything else. All this from a bit of Tweeting? YES, everything we do is on Twitter, it's a powerful tool when used correctly. Its not what you know, its who you tweet!
