Warwicktweetup 3- Heros Run Warwickshire.
We have great pleasure in announcing Air Ambulance as our nominated charity. Such a worthy cause as this "emergency" service is self funded. They receive no money from the Government or from the Lottery fund, but they perform life saving missions in their 2000 square mile response area.
We wanted to use the success of the Warwicktweetup communtiy and get our now 100plus (and growing) group of businesses and tweeters to raise a massive amount as a joint team of runners. It is a "fun run" and I know many of you will be thinking "no way Hosé" but we will be doing the smaller 5k run and are not planning on breaking any records. We have some Marathon runners in the ranks of WTU, but, we are aware that we also have some non marathon runners too.
The event is exactly 1 month after WTUQuiz and will be held at Stoneleigh Abbey on 5th June. Details here We hope to be the biggest team and run with the Warwicktweetup name, this will raise awareness to our new and exciting community and in turn the businesses and people linked to it.
The idea came about in a recent secret WTU meeting between myself, Christie and Karen who has worked with Jo Payne from the charity on previous events. Jo will be attending the WTUQuiz and will be on hand to tell us all about the work she does and how we can get involved as a WTUteam on June 5th. We also have confirmed Dave Sharpe as our Quiz master and Lanes in Warwick are providing the canapes for the reception along with fizz from Underwood wines.
Team names are coming in slowly, the holiday season not helping, so we need to have a big push on those, People without a team will be put in one on the night so don't panic, but if you want to be in a team with people you tweet regularly then get to work! The Guest list can be foundhere everyone confirmed are listed just tweet them if they are not listed in a team already. Teams so far can be found here
