TwitterSchool004_.jpg Well our first Twitter school went rather well! It was a long timein the making and took lots of planning, writing, debating and fine-tuning, but we finally made it to Twitter School at the Rose and Crown in Warwick.

After ironing out a few creases, one of which being rebuilding and connecting the screen and WiFi, we were ready. Nothing (and I mean nothing) was going to stop us today. I felt it the moment I woke; I'd not so much as touched my iPhone and Karen sent through an iMessage which included my exact thoughts. I knew at that moment that the day was going to go well. Together with Christie, WarwickTweetup is a well-oiled machine and I'm very proud to be part of it.

The course, geared at new tweeters, started with the basics but with Bios and avatars a key theme throughout. The personal tweeting style that I, and indeed many of our members adopt, was the main focus of the class.

Some excellent questions came through from the class and they really entered into the spirit of Twitter School. The section 'What do I tweet?' and 'who sees my tweets?' causing the much debate and confusion - but that Eureka moment soon echoed around the class.

It's always difficult to gauge how well something new is going to go. Yes I love Twitter and know a lot about it, but holding a class was a new challenge for us. I'm so pleased with the feedback so far. The tweets to @WarwickTweetup and the accelerated activity on the list following the students is very humbling. Some have already, after only a few hours, implemented so much into their twitter. Great stuff!

So when is the next one? That's the question we've been asked before and now the answer is...? Yes, ever the cryptic one I don't have an answer yet, but we are hoping to have the next Twitter School in March, so sooner rather than later. News will be published on here and emailed out to all members as soon as we secure a date. (Sign up for FREE now to find out first.)

TwitterSchool003_.jpgUntil then, keep following @WarwickTweetup on Twitter for our usual mix of banter, referrals, local knowledge and Twitter tips. If you are interested in our classes, feel free to email us for more information.

Cheers,
Todd, Karen and Christie.
